Resolved Question: State Law Ends Spanish Tests would you agree if federal law requires english for commercial license same for? “In a year of budget cuts, it makes no sense to spend extra money on Spanish-language drivers’ tests that serve no legitimate public policy purpose,” state Rep. Randy Terrill said. “Proving this special accommodation to non-English speakers indirectly encourages illegal immigration and prevents assimilation of legal immigrants.” House Bill 2252, by Terrill and state Sen. Anthony Sykes, repealed the requirement for the Department of Public Safety to provide driver’s license tests in Spanish. The bill went into effect on Nov. 1. Drivers who cannot read or speak English pose a public safety risk, Terrill said. The risk associated with non-English-proficient drivers is one reason the federal law requires individuals seeking a commercial license for interstate commerce to “read and speak the English language.” Oklahoma House Bill 2252 was prompted, in part, by a federal investigation after allegations Oklahoma violated the civil rights of two Iranian immigrants who were not provided written driver’s license exams in Farsi, the dominant language of Iran. The state has received multiple foreign-language requests since that time. Terrill noted the cost of providing driver’s tests in foreign languages is between $25,000 and $50,000 per language, per year. State Law Ends Spanish Tests would you agree if federal law requires being able to read and speak the English language for commercial license for interstate commerce then same must be for regular drivers license as well ?http://www.koco.com/news/21503137/detail.html

Resolved Question: Is anybody else annoyed the BCS decides champions based on opinions and guesses? I don’t see how you can just guess and say who’d win on the field if they don’t get a chance to play. It’s a shame that teams can do whatever they can to go unbeaten yet still not even get a chance to play to be #1 and the Champions the BCS annoys me because it’s just opinions and guesses rather than playing it out on the field. You can’t assume that one team is going to beat another because they play in this and that conference etc., as we saw by Utah clocking Alabama last year, and Boise State beating Oklahoma in 2007. It’s a shame but it’s all about money. Every single sport and association expect for D 1-A football decides their national champion on the field. D 1-AA,D2,and D3 have a playoff and it works. Theres about 40 days until the National Championship Game and a 16 team playoff could fit into that time span. It would suck if the NFL just decided the 2 best regular season teams go to the Super Bowl and the rest play in meaningless games ever year. If we did that we would’ve had the Giants and the Titans in the Super Bowl last year but we saw a great matchup far from that. Is anybody else annoyed the BCS decides champions based on opinions and guesses?
