Summary of the eRumor: A forwarded email about a number of bills passed in the state of Oklahoma. The email says that the state voted to approve the display of the Ten Commandments near the state capitol and a recent bill will allow law enforcement to deport criminals that are caught in the state and are in the country without permission. Another law passed that will allow law enforcement to collect DNA samples from criminals and illegal aliens for the national database. Other laws passed include one to declare state sovereignty and uphold the right to bear arms. The Truth: Oklahoma House bill 1330 authorized a monument resembling the Ten Commandments to be placed in the State Capitol Park in Oklahoma City. The state law passed today, 37 to 9, had a few liberals in the mix, an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values…! Guess what……….We did it anyway. We recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from, unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. Hope we didn’t send any of them to your state. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake. Guess what……….we did it anyway. Yesterday we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegals to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional. Guess what……..We did it anyway. Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. That, for your information, makes Oklahoma and Texas the only states to do so. Guess what………More states are likely to follow. Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, both Carolina’s, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, just to name a few. Should Mississippi act, so will Florida. Save your confederate money, it appears the South is about to rise up once again. The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I’m sure that was a set back for the Kennedy;s and Ms Pelosi. Guess what……….We did it anyway. By the way, Obama does not like any of this. Guess what….who cares…were doing it anyway http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/oklahoma-laws.htm Resolved Question: I’m freaked out about turbulence? From GoArticles.com News in a Nutshell (Sapulpa Daily Herald) Preseason Report: Oklahoma State (Tulsa World) Two Arrested In Death Of Oklahoma Man (The Morning News) Open Question: Read and grade my essay about capital punishment? Without a doubt, capital punishment is wrong and should be banned, because we can make errors, it’s expensive and with everything aside, it’s still murder. When turning on the television, radio or reading the newspaper, we are bombarded with the news of murders, rapes and other terrible things. Capital punishment is unmistakably one of the things that are wrong with today’s society. Firstly, there is always a chance of sentencing an honest man to death. Unless there is hard evidence, there will always be a chance of an innocent simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. We are all human. Prosecutors, witnesses and jurors can make mistakes. For instance, 116 innocent Americans were on death row since 1973, according to BBC. They were all eventually released but the average time these people spent on death row was 9 years. That is a preposterous amount of time in a person’s life that is wasted away because of capital punishment! If the law takes away one honest man’s life, that is one life too much. The risk of killing an innocent person is just not acceptable; therefore this is one of the reasons why capital punishment is unjust. Moreover, capital punishment is too expensive. In the USA, capital punishment costs a great deal of money. This can be seen in the case of Timothy McVeigh for the Oklahoma City bombing, where it cost over 13 million dollars to execute him. Another example can be seen in New York, when the death penalty was restored in 1995, the expense for every person sentenced to death was about 23 million dollars. Without question, this money could be so much better spent for the things that really help humankind to develop and thrive, such as healthcare and education. It could be used to solve some problems in our society, and make the world a better place. Of course, keeping criminals off the streets makes the world a better place, but that does not mean that murdering them is the answer. Locking them away in jail instead of executing them still helps us sleep soundly at night. Capital punishment is costly and morally wrong. Furthermore, we do not have the right to decide if we should take away another humans life. In a way, we are hypocrites. By saying that murder is vile and heinous but by stooping to their level and executing those found guilty, we have, in fact, become accomplices to murder. It is just not logical to punish an act by committing the same act yourself, even if it is the state that carries it out. Two wrongs do not make a right. To conclude, capital punishment is wrong. There is always a chance of sentencing an innocent to death, it’s very expensive and we do not have the right to decide if we should take away another human’s life. Life is a beautiful, precious gift that nobody has the right to take away. Every person has promise, potential and intrinsic worth. The law should set an example for all to follow. It should not be a permissible version of the very crime that society wants to prosecute and punish those who are found guilty. Thus, two wrongs do not make a right. Capital punishment is only legalised murder and should be banned. Resolved Question: If anyone out there might have any ideas on what I should try,I’m open to suggestions.? And at North Carolina State with, um, whoever plays quarterback for North Carolina State. And at Tennessee and Oregon and Purdue and South Carolina and just about everywhere college football is played at the BCS level. Players need a hotel room on Friday night. Even before home games. And it’s insulting. It’s insulting to you, the reader, knowing that the N.C. State football team paid more to put up the Wolfpack at a hotel before home games — almost $86,000 for a handful of Friday nights — than you’ll earn in six months or a year or maybe two or three years. I went to my college algebra class. Predictably, all anybody could talk about was the attacks, not yet given the moniker “9/11″. Unaware that this day would live on notoriously by name alone. The professor came in gloomily and said nothing about it. After the class, the campus was closed due to the extremely unpredictable events at the time. Nobody knew where a plane would fall next, which building may get hit. Then the planes stopped flying altogether. It was an odd sensation outside as it was eerily quiet. No planes overhead for once in this suburban Texas city. I remember back in 1995 when the Oklahoma City bombing happened, I felt a similar eerie silence in the air everywhere I went, though planes still buzzed about. Something foul had happened, the mood punctuated like never before on those days. Resolved Question: (Spoilers) Detailed WWE RAW Results For Next Monday? Ted DiBiase Sr. was in charge. He came out as a heel, but he actually got one of the best reactions of the night as people saw him as a returning legend. He came out with Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr. so he’d get a heel reaction, but the people didn’t get it. Somewhere in the middle of the promo people caught on he was playing heel. He announced Chris Jericho & Edge vs. Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes for the tag titles at Night of Champions. Apparently there is a moratorium as from next week forward there can be no title matches on television until the PPV. He also announced Rhodes vs. Mark Henry and DiBiase vs. Randy Orton. Neither were happy about that news. Edge & Jericho b Colons in a non-title match. Not nearly as good as the match on TV tonight. Ref Marty Elias was distracted by Primo, and Jericho used the codebreaker on Carlito followed by a spear by Edge and Edge pinned Carlito. Carlito turned on Primo after the match, pounding on him and throwing him over the announcers’ table. Fans quickly realized Carlito was a heel. Gail Kim & Mickie James b Maryse & Alicia Fox when Kim pinned Maryse after a kick to the face. Some really funny crowd reactions all night. Most of the people in my section at ringside were asking when did Gail Kim come from TNA. It was clear all night that a very small percentage of the fans here watch Smackdown Cody tried to pay off DiBiase to get him out of the match. That didn’t work. Somewhere in here Ted cut a promo about how he’s mad because Dusty Rhodes is in the Hall of Fame and he isn’t, and he was a hell of a lot better than Dusty. He also told Cody that he was going to put him in polka dota. Mark Henry b Cody Rhodes via count out. World’s strongest slam and Rhodes walked out. Henry got no reaction coming out even though he got a good reaction not that much earlier pinning Orton. People did cheer him after winning but not like a star. Randy Orton b Ted DiBiase with the RKO. Good match, clean pin in the middle. MVP VIP Lounge with Jack Swagger to start a new feud. Funny line as Swagger was bragging about going to the University of Oklahoma and MVP said, “That’s because you couldn’t get into a better school.” MVP was all over Swagger for walking out of his match against Orton and that’s not something an All-American would do. Swagger said MVP attended Florida State, that is Florida state prison. He called him a phony and a fraud. MVP gave the speech about how he hung with the wrong crowd, made mistakes, paid his debt to society while Swagger acted all bored. MVP, who wasn’t over at all on the first show, took off his jewelry and the place got into him pretty big. He wanted a fight, but Swagger mentioned that he doesn’t fight criminals. Effective segment. Ted DiBiase and his dad argued backstage. I didn’t get the gist of it, but probably Ted said he was trying to teach his son a lesson. Ted Jr. thought his dad set him up to fail and slapped his dad hard. This was good as well. Evan Bourne b Kofi Kingston in a non-title match with the shooting star press. Post-match saw Big Show destroy both guys, spearing Bourne and putting the camel clutch on Kingston. Bourne-Kingston had some early athletic stuff but too fast. John Cena did a backstage promo and was booed heavy. HHH NC Cena to get the title shot. Cena in his promo said they would be doing a Wrestlemania match. They did a very good match, probably just under a PPV quality match. I’d say crowd was 75% pro-HHH, which was weird because in show one, HHH got a faded star reaction and Cena was the only guy in the first show who came off to the live crowd like they were a big star. Here the crowd was strong into the entire match and booed the hell out of Cena. As they were building the finish, Rhodes & DiBiase ran in to end it. Orton then said that since they both lost, he doesn’t have to defend against either. Ted Sr. then said he was wrong, as he saw it that neither lost and he was ordering a three-way at the Night of Champions. After the taping was over, Cena did a promo telling the fans that they had just seen a great show and had just seen a Wrestlemania main event. He said people could remember that they saw the best match they had ever seen in their lives. I was about to throw up when he delivered that line. People were with him. He said Rhodes & DiBiase ruined Wrestlemania and wanted all three to come down and apologize. After calling them cowards, they got in the ring. Orton was in HHH & Cena’s face when DiBiase & Rhodes bailed out without Orton knowing. Show ended with an Attitude Adjustment by Cena and pedigree by HHH on Orton, and then Ted Sr. came back out and slapped Ted Jr. in the face. Resolved Question: Has anybody seen anything about this on the news? http://www.australia.to/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5912:firestorm-brewing-between-us-states-and-federal-government-&catid=91:ope&Itemid=122 Could this be an ominous shadow drawing on the end of the United States of America? For years the Federal Government has presumed to be the all-powerful force governing our country, but it just could be that the Federal Government only exists at the pleasure of the state governments and the citizens thereof. States declaring sovereignty sounds like an act of secession and revolution. However the federal government can apparently be dissolved and another one formed anew at the discretion of the states. The existing Federal government may not leave willingly like so many European governments that are replaced routinely and it may engage a military effort with our own soldiers or the likes of a Black Water illegal military invasion to retain total control over us. United States Federal Government laws are often in violation of the Tenth Amendment, which is perturbing, these events. This is predicated on an earlier provision of the Articles of Confederation, which states that, “Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this Confederation [now Federation] expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled.” A growing number of states are declaring their sovereignty afforded under the U S Constitution’s Tenth Amendment however the conventional news media are not telling you about what is happening. The State of Washington on Wednesday - 11 February 2009 and most recently, New Hampshire [2009], Montana [2009], Hawaii [2009], Michigan [2009], Missouri [2009], Arizona [2008], Oklahoma [2008], Georgia [1996], and California [1994] all of which have introduced bills and resolutions declaring and reaffirming their sovereignty. Some other states have done this in the past but then let the issue go. Additionally, the states of Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, and Illinois are considering similar measures. More well may follow, such as Wyoming and Mississippi. brown9500v1, the N&P clause? lol, really? aka, “the elastic clause”? The one that is being abused and is responsible for government growth?
