( 10 pts)? Aikman had an exceptional football career, which began during his college days. He played two seasons at the University of Oklahoma before transferring to UCLA. During his senior year at UCLA, he won an award for being the nation’s top college quarterback. Moving on to the NFL, Aikman became a league standout within two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He ended up leading his team to three Super Bowl wins. In 2006, six years after he stopped playing football for the Cowboys, Aikman was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It was a great accomplishment. Aikman received honors and praise from fans and other athletes. But he still really wanted his college degree. Aikman never forgot the promise he had made to his mother, but that promise was not the only reason he wanted to return to school. He had spent nearly four years in college but left before completing his final year. He wanted a degree to show for all that hard work. He also wanted to provide an example for his children. It’s not unusual for an athlete to leave school in order to turn pro, and Aikman is not the first pro athlete to go back to college. Over the years, Aikman watched others pursue degrees. In 1996, Aikman’s teammate, Emmitt Smith, returned to the University of Florida to earn his degree. In 2001, basketball player Shaquille O’Neal graduated from Louisiana State University. Aikman inquired about taking college courses during his career, but it never worked out. After he stopped playing football professionally, he became a sports broadcaster. Again, college got placed on the back burner. Aikman finally decided to return to school in 2008, after discussing the subject with a football coach from his days at UCLA. Bob Field, who was working in the university’s athletic department, helped Aikman sign up for an online course. The former NFL player got an “A.” After earning an “A” in a second course, Aikman could finally graduate—20 years after he had left. Now 42, he says he is “finally taking care of unfinished business.”

For years the Federal Government has presumed to be the all-powerful force governing our country, but it just could be that the Federal Government only exists at the pleasure of the state governments and the citizens thereof. States declaring sovereignty sounds like an act of secession and revolution. However the federal government can apparently be dissolved and another one formed anew at the discretion of the states. The existing Federal government may not leave willingly like so many European governments that are replaced routinely and it may engage a military effort with our own soldiers or the likes of a Black Water illegal military invasion to retain total control over us. United States Federal Government laws are often in violation of the Tenth Amendment, which is perturbing, these events. This is predicated on an earlier provision of the Articles of Confederation, which states that, “Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this Confederation [now Federation] expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled.” A growing number of states are declaring their sovereignty afforded under the U S Constitution’s Tenth Amendment however the conventional news media are not telling you about what is happening. The State of Washington on Wednesday - 11 February 2009 and most recently, New Hampshire [2009], Montana [2009], Hawaii [2009], Michigan [2009], Missouri [2009], Arizona [2008], Oklahoma [2008], Georgia [1996], and California [1994] all of which have introduced bills and resolutions declaring and reaffirming their sovereignty. Some other states have done this in the past but then let the issue go. Additionally, the states of Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, and Illinois are considering similar measures. More well may follow, such as Wyoming and Mississippi. brown9500v1, the N&P clause? lol, really? aka, “the elastic clause”? The one that is being abused and is responsible for government growth? Your thoughts? Wayman Tisdale, a three-time All-American at Oklahoma who played 12 seasons in the NBA and later became a top jazz musician, died after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 44. Tisdale died Friday morning at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, hospital spokeswoman Joy McGill said. Edit: I don’t know too much about his basketball career. I know him best from his career in the “Smooth Jazz” industry. Dude is practically a house hold name in San diego California! I use to listen to his music when I was stationed in SD at the Naval School Of Health Sciences. For a former basketball player turned bass player, he could most definitely hold his own with the best out here. RIP bro! You and your music will be truly missed. The intelligence assessment issued to law enforcement last week said some military veterans could be susceptible to extremist recruiters or commit lone acts of violence. That prompted angry reactions from some lawmakers and veterans’ groups. Homeland Security spokeswoman Amy Kudwa said the report was issued before officials resolved problems raised by the agency’s civil rights division. Kudwa would not specify what language raised the concerns. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano defended the report Thursday, but she said the definition of right-wing extremism that was included in a footnote should be changed. In the report, right-wing extremism was defined as hate-motivated groups and movements, such as hatred of certain religions, racial or ethnic groups. “It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” the report said. “If there’s one part of that report I would rewrite, in the word-smithing, Washington-ese that goes on after the fact, it would be that footnote,” Napolitano said Thursday on Fox News. The same definition was included in the agency’s March 26 report on domestic extremism. Both reports were marked “For Official Use Only.” The report on right-wing extremists cites the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing by military veteran Timothy McVeigh as one instance of a veteran becoming a domestic terrorist.
